A Double-Six Celebration: The Auckland Chinese Community Centre (ACCC) Marks Its 66th Anniversary On the evening of June 6, 2006, at 6:00 PM, ACCC held a grand gala in East Auckland to celebrate its 66th anniversary. The date—featuring a repetition of the number six, which signifies great fortune in Chinese culture—coincided perfectly with the 66th anniversary, making the occasion all the more meaningful. ACCC is arguably the largest officially registered non-profit Chinese community organization in New Zealand, boasting the highest number of dues-paying and lifetime members; it stands second to none in the region in terms of both scale and internal cohesion. Numerous distinguished guests attended the gala to offer their congratulations.
